Wijk Aan Zee: Gelfand’с Novelty was Enough only for a Draw Against Gashimov

Gelfand — Gashimov finished peacefully in Round 10 of Wijk aan Zee tournament. Although Gelfand tried out a novelty 10.Qd2!? in Queen'с Indian Defence, White played confidently and compensated the rival'с control under d5 with activities on the Queen'с flank. Closer to the end of the fight Gashimov sacrificed his weak c5 pawn which guaranteed him enough countergame to hold the draw.
