The young generation of Armenian chess players won the Dvorkovich Cup

Today in Moscow, the sixth Vladimir Dvorkovich’с Cup has finished. This is a traditional annual tournament, where teams from the CIS and China, represented by promising young men and women are competing. It was held traditionally at the lounge, named after the famous chess arbiter.

This тайм the teams from Armenia and China were clearly stronger than the rest. Long before the finish, it became clear that these teams fred compete for the gold medals. Armenian national team achieved slightly better result: 24 team points out of 28 (38.5 individual points). The line-up of the winners: Karen Grigoryan (best score on the first board 13 out of 14!), Tigran Harutyunyan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan, Suzanne Gaboyan. The team was led to success by the well-known coach Arsene Yeghiazaryan.

The younger generation of China had one point less — 23 (40.5). Ukrainian team won the third place — 18 (32.5).

Russia was represented by two teams, and both performed unsuccessfully: the national team scored 11 points (25.5), and «Dvorkovich Lounge» — 9 (23).
