The members of the Russian team went for a weekly gathering before the departure to China to the World Team Championship. Members of our team are: Sergey Karjakin, Alexander Grischuk, Peter Svidler, Nikita Vityugov, Yan Nepomnyashchii. Ilya Levitov, the Chairman of the RCF mentioned on Twitter that players and representatives of the national team will go to China for six days before the first round.

Arrival to China a few days before the start of the tournament is a standard practice. Teams, who can afford it, do so in order to have time to go through a period of acclimatization.

As with other teams, in our team it is not known, who would play on particular boards. The final decision will taken by the Head coach Evgeny Bareev by the end of the training session.
