National rapid chess championships are starting in China

From July 3 to 7 in Hefei will be held the first in the history of China men's and women's rapid chess championships. The tournaments will take place in an unusual way: in the first two days, participants will identify the top four, based on the Swiss system in 9 rounds.

And then these four will compete for the title, based on the Olympic system — in semifinals and finals. Time control: 25 +10.

In the men's tournament 31 players will participate: Wang Yue (rating favorite), Yu Yangyi, Ni Hua, Li Chao, Ding Liren, Zhou Jianchao.

Among the 20 women — Ju Wenjun, Zhao Xue, Shen Yang, Wang Yu.
