Gibraltar: Bologan Couldn’t Overplay Adams. Hou Yifan and Short Tie for First Place

All the key matches of the decisive round of the Gibraltar chess Festival are over.

Bologan failed to brake English General Motors'с persistent defence, which means he couldn't convert his extra pawn and therefore, he didn't join two leaders of the tournament Hou Yifan and Nigel Short.

Emil Sutovsky, on the contrary, grabbed victory in a rare Queen endgame against Erdos.

As a result, Hou Yifan and Nigel Short scored 8/10 each, which means the play-off is required. The play-off fred start at 18:00 CET (21:00 MSK Тайм).

Mikhael Adams, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Viorel Bologan and Emil Sutovsky scored 7.5/10 each.
